As a very keen predator fisherman, Savage Gear has become Hugo’s way of life. Wanting to be closer to his favorite activity - fishing and catching the big predators - he even moved to Lage Zwaluwe, one of the areas that offers the biggest fishing lakes in the Netherlands. He loves catching fish, but focusing on the specimens around him is especially thrilling. Hugo loves the big perch and Zander, but admits his knees always get weak when he hooks into a monster pike. Blind casting for those monsters with big baits is at the top of his favorite activities.  

Hugo started fishing when he was four years old, and it has been a massive part of his life ever since. He never bores of it and it's always a challenge and puzzle to figure out how to get those big fish on the hook!  

Today, Hugo is working as a product developer for Savage Gear and landing this job was nothing short of a dream come true for him. When not hunting down predators on the waters, he’s using all his time with an incredible team of predator fishing experts, designing the best possible baits, rods, and reels - all the gear you need to be ready to tackle new epic adventures on and by the waters.
